Description

On 30 May 2005 the Cleaning Sector was sold. The price was calculated on the basis of
an Enterprise Value (EV) equal to about 10 times the EBIT. This disposal, together with
the acquisitions of Hammelmann and NLB, confirm the strategy of the Interpump Group
aimed at focusing on the sectors with the highest profitability and technological
content.The business sectors of the Group after the abovementioned operations are:
Hydraulic Sector, Industrial Sector and Electric Motors Sector. The Hydraulic Sector
includes power take offs (for trucks) of which Interpump Group is the worldwide leader,
hydraulics pumps and other hydraulic components. The Industrial Sector is mainly
composed of high pressure plunger pumps, of which Interpump Group is the worldwide
leader, and of very high pressure systems and pumps in which, after the acquisition of
Hammelmann and NLB, Interpump Group reached a very strong worldwide competitive
position. The high pressure plunger pumps are the main component of the professional
high pressure washers and are also utilised for a broad range of industrial applications
like the car washer installations, forced lubrication systems for machine tools, inverse
osmosis systems for water desalination plants, and equipment for cutting solid materials.
The very high pressure systems and pumps are utilised for cleaning different type of
surfaces, ships, pipes, and also for removing machining burr, cutting and removing of
cement, asphalt and paint coating from stone, cement and metal surfaces; they are also
included pumping systems for a wide range of industrial sectors for the conveyance of
fluids. Electric Motors Sector includes electric motors and windings, mainly used as
component of the high pressure washers, compressors and gates in the building industry.
