These resources include several surface and near-surface high-grade gold mines (< 400m depth) which provide cost advantages relative to other gold producers in the country. In July 2022 Theta delivered the very first Definitive Feasibility Study for the project to initially recover 1.08 Moz gold in 12.9 years. Project financing discussions are underway and proeduction is planned to begin in mid 2023. The Company plans to bring more mines into production over the next 5 years to build a solid production profile of over 160koz per annum. In the meantime, the board initiated an early cashflow strategy where mining at its Frankfort mine began in July 2023, with gold ore to be screend/crushed/sorted and to be processed at a nearby gold plant owned and operated by LSE listed Pan African Resources Plc.
