Description

TSH Resources Berhad ("Company") was incorporated as a private limited company in Malaysia on 7 August 1979 and has its beginnings in the cocoa business. The Company obtained a listing on the Second Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange on 31 January 1994, before transferring to the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now known as the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad) on 12 June 2000.
The Company and its group of companies ("Group") embarked on an expansion phase and ventured into the palm oil industry in Sabah, Malaysia in the 1990s and subsequently in Kalimantan and Sumatera, Indonesia in the 2000s. In 2006, the Group sought to further expand the palm products business segment, by venturing further downstream into operating a palm oil refinery and palm kernel crushing plant in Sabah, Malaysia through a joint venture with the Wilmar Group.
The Group is now principally engaged in oil palm cultivation and processing of fresh fruit bunches into crude palm oil and palm kernel. Its oil palm plantations and palm oil mills are located in Sabah, Malaysia, and Kalimantan and Sumatera in Indonesia. Apart from the palm products business segment, the Group is also engaged in the other businesses which comprise the manufacture and sale of downstream engineered hardwood flooring, the operation of a forest management unit for sustainable forestry, and the generation and supply of electricity from biomass and biogas power plants.
